Dear Colleagues and Partners—
On behalf of the Center for Urban Population Health, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website which illustrates our core mission of
Advancing population health research and education to improve the health of urban communities.
As a collaboration of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and Aurora Health Care, Inc., the Center's vision is to be a destination where researchers can lead innovative, community-connected urban population health research and education.
To accomplish our mission and vision, the Center embraces the following principles and values:
- Promoting a population health framework as a unifying approach for addressing health determinants, interventions and health outcomes;
- Forging partnerships with community and academic experts from diverse organizations, backgrounds, perspectives and disciplines;
- Creating an environment of innovation;
- Translating research into effective policies, programs and practices; and
- Working to reduce health disparities.
