Biography
Andrew Marek manages the Center of Urban Population Health's information systems, which include developing data registries, creating public-facing web sites for community partners, and serving as an honest broker for protected health information. With a background in programming, he has developed a number of data registries including PeriData.Net®, a perinatal database used by 85 hospitals in Wisconsin; Starting Strong, an application to help manage Milwaukee County’s birth-to-three program; and, e-Sight, a school-based vision screening management system. Before joining the Center, Mr. Marek had significant experience developing database-driven online applications, working for both Metavante (now FIS) of Brown Deer, Wisconsin, and Strong Financial, formerly of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Management Information Systems and a minor in Computer Science.
