Biography
Ms. Sabir is an integral member of the ICTR Community Health Connections statewide, regionally-based team, and works closely and collaboratively with other Regional Research coordinators located in three other regions across Wisconsin as well as with the Community Partnerships Initiative team at the Center for Urban Population Health.
The Community Health Connections (CHC) program, part of the ICTR-CAP core, is an information gathering, research facilitation, and dissemination resources that connects researchers with communities throughout Wisconsin. It is a statewide, regionally-based infrastructure to promote ideas and community-based projects that will influence Type 2 translational research being done at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and in communities across the state.
Ms. Sabir’s research outreach and community engagement activities focus is in the five-county region encompassing the Southeastern part of the State of Wisconsin
Ms Sabir holds a Masters in Social Work Direct Practice and Administration. Ms Sabir believes in the intrinsic value of translation and development of best practices related to supporting community development. She currently works to assist diverse constituencies including academics (campus-based investigators), grass roots and community-based organizations, and community-based investigators with a variety of community research projects and program initiatives in Southeastern Wisconsin.
