For over 125 years Aurora Family Service has been serving families in our community. The “Race, Families and Milwaukee” Summit is the premier advocacy event hosted by AFS focused on broadening the community’s understanding of what racism is, what actions we can take to improve race relations, and what impact this environment has on families – regardless of their socio-economic background.
Race has been a challenge for many families in Milwaukee for generations, and as family advocates we seek to advance our mission to help families find their voices, effecting real progress within the community around them.
In these troubling economic times, families are facing more hardship than ever before. We seek to address the barriers to employment that exist in Milwaukee and the role of minorities in creating innovative entrepreneurship to build healthier and stronger communities.
Featured speaker is Steven Rogers, Gordon and Llura Gund Family Clinical Professor of Innovative Entrepreneurship, Kellog School of Management, Northwestern University.
