Domestic violence killings put state on deadly pace: 30 people have died so far this year; 11 in county

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article notes that thirty people died in domestic violence cases statewide from January to July 2009, putting this year on pace to be among the decade's deadliest, according to a report released Tuesday.  Local officials concerned about the role domestic violence plays in homicides have formed a work group including representatives from the Police Department, the Milwaukee County district attorney's office, the Sojourner Family Peace Center and the city's Homicide Review Commission.  Read the entire article.
