City of Milwaukee Health Department Releases Summary Report from the Safe Sleep Summit

The City of Milwaukee Health Department hosted a Safe Sleep Summit on Monday, May 3rd featuring keynote speech by the nationally renowned Fern R. Hauck, M.D., M.S., Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia, and was kicked off with a welcome from Mayor Tom Barrett and Bevan K. Baker, Commissioner of Health. The Summit also included breakout sessions and a final forum for recommendations and next steps.

The Center for Urban Population Health has identified infant and family health as one of its key focus areas. To support this event, a team of researchers from the Center served as facilitators during the  discussion and brainstorming portion of the event and assisted the Health Department in compiling a summary report of the findings.
