Check out the Milwaukee LIHF Wiki!

The Milwaukee Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families (LIHF) collaborative is a community-wide effort dedicated to closing the black-white gap in birth outcomes in Milwaukee.  From April 2010 through June 2011, the Milwaukee LIHF will build a collaboration to include representatives from multiple sectors of the Milwaukee community.

The Milwaukee LIHF wiki is a place for all Milwaukee LIHF supporters to join in an ongoing conversation about the planning process.

This planning process is being led by Dr. Pat McManus, Director and CEO of the Black Health Coalition of Wisconsin and Dr. Earnestine Willis, Kellner Professor in Pediatrics and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Underserved Children at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.  The process is being facilitated by the Planning Council for Health and Human Services, Inc. and the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee LIHF collaborative already has collaborators from 60 local organizations, but hopes that many more community members and organizations will join in the planning process.  Funded by the Wisconsin Partnership Program’s Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families, the Milwaukee LIHF planning process will create an action plan specific to Milwaukee that will be supported in part by the Wisconsin Partnership Program’s LIHF, with a goal of obtaining additional support from other funding partners both locally and nationally.

Please visit the Milwaukee LIHF wiki to learn more about this process and to join the ranks of individuals who are making a difference in the Milwaukee community!
