For the Center for Urban Population Health, the population health perspective provides a research framework to better understand and address the health and well being of communities. Population health focuses on identifying the determinants of health, disease, and well being in populations, designing and implementing preventive and treatment interventions that promote the health and well being of populations, and measuring their effectiveness to improve health outcomes of communities.
Research has estimated that health care contributes 20% to the health outcomes of individuals. Aurora Research Institute (ARI) is committed to conducting cutting edge bench and clinical research, integrating this knowledge at the patient’s bedside and communicating valuable patient-centered results to the community. Beneficial patient-centered outcomes are the focus of medical research at Aurora Health Care. The Center for Urban Population Health is embedded in the Aurora Research Institute and can be a front door to the knowledge and expertise of Aurora's vast research and practice infrastructure, paving ways to partner in addressing population health through improved medical practices and policies.
