STUDENT LEARNERS

Purpose
The purpose of the Center’s internship program is to provide a framework for students to gain direct, supervised volunteer experience in population health research and evaluation projects.  In addition to gaining valuable experience in population health, students will receive:
  • Opportunities to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Center Scientists around population health issues,
  • Hands-on learning in their area of interest,
  • Recognition of contributions in Center communications (such as website, annual report, etc.),
  • Notice of community and professional development opportunities,
  • Access to library resources across institutions, and
  • Letter of recommendation upon satisfactory completion of placement.

Internship opportunities are based on availability of projects.
 
Eligibility
Students are encouraged to apply if they are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. 


Application Process
To apply, students should:
  1. Complete an application form found here.
  2. Attach a resume or curriculum vita.
  3. If an internship is not required by your academic program, please also attach a letter from your education institution describing how an internship would support your learning.
  4. Submit all materials electronically to:

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed upon receipt. Applicants will have an informational interview and follow up regarding whether or not a match has been identified. 

Applicants who do not find a match are welcome to check in again with the Center in the following semester.
