This project addresses the issues related to alcohol and drug abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders for women and their children in the Racine area. The program provides an integrated care program for women while also providing services to children affected by their mother’s substance use and mental health disorders. The population of focus are women and mothers with children who are currently reside in a homeless shelter..

Aims |
WOW is an outpatient program focusing on the unique needs of women, in particular, mothers and expecting mothers, as well as women who have experienced homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless.
The program provides a safe, supportive and understanding environment for women looking to recover from substance abuse and trauma. Impacting every aspect of life, WOW focuses on developing the individual’s well being, as well as the overall wellness of their children. WOW for mothers uses an inter-generational approach to therapy by providing comprehensive support services for women and their children focusing on:
